Collection: Linda Meli

After many years as a graphic designer and illustrator, Linda Meli (*1991) found her way to painting. Always attracted to analog and narrative working methods, she loves the freedom and materiality of painting.

The figurative works of the self-taught painter are created with oil, oil pastel, chalk, and acrylic on used tablecloths, canvas, and raw linen. Her colorful figurative paintings depict people and the traces they leave behind, alone and in all their complex interpersonal relationships and stories. They smoke carefree or lean against each other in an intimate posture, conveying a strangely dreamy, otherworldly mood that encourages viewers to conjure up similar situations from their own past.
