Collection: Sue Hiley Harris

The works shown here are part of a series Weaving Unearthed which reveals Sue's fascination for experimental woven structures and emphasises the environmental value of what is concealed underground. She is always conscious of her materials which include natural pigments, copper and silver wire and paper yarn. The use of precious metal reinforces the value of significant aspects of the environment that she is exposing as needing protection for their diversity and richness.  Habitual oxidisation of copper and silver may be seen as another layer of concealment.
