My work is a visceral representation of my experience as both mother and carer for my son Tom, exploring love, joy, loss, anger, and the strength of will required to help and support a non-verbal young adult with significant disabilities.

Striking balance between abstraction and figuration, I try to express my thoughts with frankness and tangible emotion. The contrast of love and frustration, highs and lows in our life together are core to my practice.

For me, both mother and carer roles co-exist, are often co-dependent and sometimes compete, contributing to my body of work from my unique perspective of ‘mother-carer hood’.
