Collection: Tessa Waite

My drawings emerge from lying down on the ground, this has been central to my practice for the past few years. This simple daily act of connecting to my surroundings answers a desire for solidarity with the lives of others. With my back to the earth, brain and body level, a new awareness of life within and around me opens up. This direct physical and imaginative connection to the sky, the earth and all its inhabitants represents my enquiry into the inseparability of self and environment in the broadest sense.
